Olmsted County to host low-cost rabies vaccinations June 22

(ABC 6 News) – Olmsted County and local veterinarians will hold low-cost rabies vaccination clinics June 22, 2022.

Veterinarians will provide rabies shots for dogs, cats, and ferrets for $20 each, to be paid in cash only.

Pet owners should bring their animals in carriers or on a leash.

While most rabies cases occur in wild animals, vaccination can help protect pets and humans from exposure and infection.

Dogs, cats, and cattle are the most frequently reported rabid pets and livestock.

The following locations will provide rabies vaccinations June 22:

  • Jeff’s Little Store, 3335 Marion Rd. SE, Rochester; 8 a.m. to noon with Dr. Larry Predmore
  • Chosen Valley Vet Clinic, 115 S. Main St., Chatfield; 9 to 11 a.m. with Dr. Henry Peeters.
  • Rochester Pet & Country Store, 1550 3rd Ave. SE, Rochester; 12:30 to 4 p.m. with Predmore
  • Byron Pet Clinic, 25 Frontage Rd. NE, Byron; 3 to 5 p.m. with Dr. Kristi Frost
  • History Center of Olmsted County, 1195 West Circle Dr. SW, Rochester; 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. with Predmore
  • RCTC Heintz Center, 1926 College View Rd. E, Rochester; 5 to 6:30 p.m. with Dr. Kimberly Rowley
  • Jeff’s Little Store, 5395 Highway 52 S, Rochester; 8 to 9 p.m. with Predmore
