(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Heritage Preservation Commission Council held its monthly meeting Tuesday evening. With two big items on the table.
The council voted unanimously to remove both the Associated Bank building and the Log Cabin Grill from the city’s landmark list.
Because the buildings have lost historical value, they’re no longer protected as landmarks following tonight’s vote.
Another item on the agenda was the new riverfront project that was just approved by the city council last week and now will move on to the next stage in the process.
“The city council approved the general concepts of what would be in there, but the detail will go to a developer to work them out. And they’re first formulating how they are going to reach out to the developer. We were told it would maybe be six months or so,” said Barry Skolnick Heritage Preservation Commissioner.
The plans include gardens and green space for activities and preserving part of the old Time Theatre.
