(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Olmsted Council of Governments met Wednesday to discuss various items including how the group plans on funding future transportation projects.
One of the biggest projects on the table is aiming to improving conditions on 18th Avenue southwest in Rochester.
The group chose a recommended plan to use federal, state, and local funding options for the project, which is scheduled to start in 2027.
“The project highlights include improved sightline, improvement to pavement, intersection improvement at 18th Avenue and Mayowood road and the introduction of bicycle and pedestrian facilities,” said Project manager Jarrett Hubbard.
The council also approved turning control of the street over from Olmsted county to the city of Rochester meaning the project will be jointly funded by both the county and the city.
