(ABC 6 News) – A Wisconsin man is in custody after a DWI incident on Friday, July 15.

Dakota Au, 26, from Buffalo City, WI is facing multiple charges, including 5th-degree possession of controlled substances and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Rochester Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Assisi Dr. NW where witnesses say Au was in the driver’s seat of a moving vehicle, semi-conscious with no hands on the steering wheel. One witness says the vehicle went over a curb, onto the sidewalk, and up a grassy hill before rolling back into the lane of traffic.

Police say Au failed a field sobriety test, and upon searching the vehicle, found about 9.5 grams of methamphetamine, 31 M-30 pills, small amounts of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. M-30 pills are often known to be laced with fentanyl.

Au is facing charges of 5th-degree possession of controlled substances and 4th-degree DWI.

Police have obtained a search warrant for a blood sample.
