Man charged after robbing Mason City Dairy Queen Aug 7
(ABC 6 News) – A man has been arrested after a robbery at Dairy Queen and was found in possession of three stolen motorcycles.
The Mason City Police Department said Ryan Matthew Allen faces charges of first-degree robbery and third-degree burglary related to an Aug. 7 incident.
On Aug 7, an employee showed up to work at the Mason City Dairy Queen before business hours. Once the employee was inside, the employee was confronted by an unknown subject.
The suspect held a knife and allegedly threatened the employee with the knife and prevented her escape. The suspect also then allegedly stole the employee’s cell phone and wanted money. The employee was able to escape and report the incident. The suspect fled before police arrived.
Additionally, police served a search warrant at 949 9th St. SE. in Mason City resulting in locating three stolen motorcycles, a stolen scooter, and controlled substances and paraphernalia.
Allen was in custody at the Floyd County Jail when he was served with the warrants related to the robbery, which happened on Aug. 7. Allen is being held at the Floyd County jail.
