Fans flock as AMA Motocross comes to southeast Minnesota

(ABC 6 News) — The best of the best in pro motocross was out in southeast Minnesota for the latest edition of the AMA Motocross Championship Saturday.
Spring Creek MX Park was the host as a handful of Minnesotans were racing in the event. Plenty of fans came to support Alex Martin, a Millville native retiring at the end of the season. Not to mention there was also Henry Miller, who is from Rochester and was racing as well.
But the day ended up belonging to Eli Tomac, who was competing in the 450 cc portion. Tomac is one of the premier racers in the sport and is currently nominated for an ESPY for best athlete in men’s action sports.
Tomac won the overall competition placing first in both 450 cc races while Miller and Martin ended up stuck in the crowd, placing 25th and 34th respectively in the first race. Both southeast Minnesotans improved a little in the second race, finishing inside the top 20, nevertheless, the day was Tomac’s with a perfect 50 points overall.
