Cerro Gordo County switches from CodeRED to Alert Iowa
(ABC 6 News) – Cerro Gordo County, Mason City, and Clear Lake/Ventura have switched from CodeRED to Alert Iowa.
To ensure residents receive the latest weather and community-based emergency alerts, residents will need to re-register through our new system.
Alert Iowa is a statewide emergency notification system the county and cities will use to send alerts to residents when emergencies occur or when we need to share important safety information. The system will enable us to better communicate emergency information directly to citizens via voice call, text message, email, and social media. The system has the capability to translate messages into multiple languages and will let residents choose what alerts they receive and how they receive them.
To sign up:

Cerro Gordo County will fully transition to the upgraded system by July 15, 2022. Residents will need to sign up before this date to receive alerts.
