Zumbro River cleanup dredges up scooter, storm grate, countless takeout containers
(ABC 6 News) – The Zumbro River cleanup July 1 yielded some surprising finds (huge rebar sections and a Lime scooter), as well as some predictable ones (countless plastic bags and takeout containers).

Members of the Rochester Downtown Alliance’s Clean and Safe Ambassador team pulled trash out of the river to be disposed of by the City of Rochester Public Works and Litter Bit Better.
Items of note included the following:
- Eleven bags of litter
- One Lime scooter
- A storm drain grate
- Sporting equipment like tennis and golf balls
- Many Styrofoam containers
- Countless plastic grocery bags
- One construction cone
- Three large pieces of rebar
