Gray Duck closes, Pop’s Art Theater to move in

(ABC 6 News) – The COVID-19 pandemic brought challenges that caused the Gray Duck theater to close down but a group of artists is looking to utilize the space.

New owners Nathaniel Nelson and Maggie Panetta will soon transform the space into Pop’s Art theater.

The theater plans to convert the coffee bar area into a theater lobby whih will include concessions and an arcade.

“It’ll still be a theater, but we’re hoping to expand and add in live music and other events, expand programming, including things like midnight movies and retrospectives and curated series of older films,” said Co-Owner of Pop’s Art Theater Nathaniel Nelson.

Nelson plans to hold an opening event sometime during the weekend of the Oscars which will be held March 12, 2023.
