Rochester police report two weekend overdoses
(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester Police Department responded to two non-fatal overdoses over the weekend — both of which could be linked to fentanyl pills.
According to police, a 38-year old man was found in the driver’s seat of his vehicle at about 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3.
Officers administered two doses of Narcan and the man was reportedly revived in a Mayo Clinic ambulance.
Captain Casey Moilanen with the ROD said the man admitted to using cocaine — but officers on scene also found a blue M30 pill.
M30 pills often contain fentanyl, according to Rochester law enforcement.
A second Rochester man was discovered on the floor of his bathroom just after 7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5.
According to police, the 34-year-old man’s sister found that he wasn’t breathing and started CPR.
Rochester police reportedly administered three doses of Narcan and the man regained consciousness in the ambulance on his way to an area hospital.
Moilanen said police suspect use of M30 pills in the second overdose.
