(ABC 6 News) – Austin Packer gymnast Katelynn Klouse is on a steady path towards becoming a future star for her team, a trend much closer after setting two personal bests recently.

Klouse set her two new personal bests at the Big 9 conference meet, which was a reason to celebrate but an even better reason to keep the foot on the gas.

"It means like I’m doing all that I can, and putting whatever I can into that day and just going with it. I just know that I can do my best, and that’s all that I can give that day," Klouse said.

With an 8.675 on vault and 33.95 all-around, Klouse never lets herself doubt her confidence.

"If you second guess it, you could fall and stuff. And then that’s like a lot to take away from you and the team," Klouse said.

"She thrives on the crowd, she thrives on her team. So, the more energy in the gym, the better she does," Packers Gymnastics coach Bethany Hander said.

Staying poised is key as Klouse can’t let a rough score slow her down nor is she willing to let her teammates get down either.

"They did the best that they could when they went out there. And just like helping them improve it during practice and stuff like that," Klouse said.

Klouse’s enthusiasm and willingness to go all out is something coach Hander believes is a sign of what is yet to come.

"If we tell you to need to clean up your form, she’ll clean up her form. You need to get bigger tumbling, she’ll get bigger tumbling. So, she’s very adamant about being on the team and participating as an athlete," Hander said.
