A Major Mid-Week Winter Storm For The Area
Our quiet & snow-free February is about to come to an abrupt end, as a major winter storm is on track for the area Tuesday afternoon through Thursday. The models are starting to come together on the track, which looks to bring heavy, significant snow & wind to the area during this time. South of I-90 may even see a little ice Wednesday afternoon, cutting back on the overall snowfall totals for parts of Iowa, mainly along & south of Highway 18. Exact storm snowfall totals remain a little in question, but what the models are continuing to show, is the heaviest snow lining up from the Twin Cities south towards Highway 14. Many, if not most of the Weather First Area could see at least 8″ of snow, if not more. We will have to watch for any shift in the track S/SE, as this would bring even higher totals to the area.
