Significant Impacts Expected With The Storm

The combination of heavy snow & very strong wind, like will experience with this winter storm, will lead to significant impacts for the Weather First area, especially throughout southern MN. North Iowa will see sleet & freezing rain close to Highway 18 & especially south of there, keeping the difficult travel throughout those locations as well. The significant snow & wind though will likely cause blizzard conditions (along & west of I-35) & whiteouts in the open areas. Not only will visibility be limited, the snow will easily drift as well. Travel should be reconsidered, or changed up if you have plans to take to the roads later this evening, overnight, & into Thursday morning.
