Stewartville man receives 17-month sentence after police chase
(ABC 6 News) – UPDATE: Jose Andres Martinez received a 17-month prison sentence in Freeborn County Court Thursday, with credit for 157 days already served.
(ABC 6 News) – A Stewartville man pleaded guilty to fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle in Freeborn County Court Monday.

Jose Andres Martinez, 31, was arrested after a car chase that led officers through Albert Lea, through several spike traps, and onto I-35 as pieces flew off his tires, according to court documents.
Court documents allege that Martinez crashed into a median barrier south of Highway 30, where he was arrested and where officers claim they located methamphetamine in his vehicle.

Additional charges of 5th-degree drug possession, and driving while intoxicated were dismissed.
