Gophers men’s hockey team to visit Rochester for a practice, intrasquad scrimmage
(ABC 6 News) – The Minnesota Gopher’s men’s hockey team will be coming to Rochester’s Graham Arena Complex on Friday and Saturday for a team practice and intrasquad scrimmage.
The Gophers, ranked No. 1 in the nation, will hold a team practice on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and an intrasquad scrimmage on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Former Gopher hockey player and Winona native, Roger Benson, will drop the ceremonially first puck. Benson played for the Gophers from 1955-1960 and for the legendary coach John Mariucci at the time.
The Gophers (25-8-1, 19-4-1 Big Ten) are getting ready for postseason play. The pairings for the NCAA Tournament will be announced on Mar. 19. The NCAA Frozen Four will be held April 6-8 in Tampa, Florida.
