Austin High school moves to remote learning Thursday due to HVAC failure
(ABC 6 News) – Austin High school will have a remote learning day on Thursday, March 16 due to a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) failure at Austin High School.
Superintendent Dr. Joey Page sent out the following statement Wednesday afternoon shortly after the school had been in lockdown for nearly two hours following a security concern.

Austin Public Schools is responding to a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) failure at Austin High School, which will impact operations at the school. We are working to correct this problem as quickly as possible, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the failure, Austin High School will have a remote learning day on Thursday, March 16.
We apologize for this inconvenience and will keep you informed.
