Hayfield loses to BOLD in Class A girls basketball semifinal, 58-46
(ABC 6 News) – The Hayfield Vikings girls basketball teams’ dreams of winning a state championship came to end on Friday afternoon.
The Vikings lost to the BOLD Warriors, 58-46 in a semifinal game of the Class A girls state basketball tournament at Williams Arena.
The Vikings were led by Chelsea Christopherson with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Kristen Watson notched 5 steals. The Vikings shot 37% from the field compared to 48% from BOLD. The Vikings also committed 22 turnovers with BOLD having 12.
Hayfield will play Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in the third-place game at the Gangelhoff Center in St. Paul on Saturday at 10:00 a.m.
BOLD will play Mountain Iron-Buhl for the Class A state championship on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. at Williams Arena in Minneapolis.
