(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police captain Casey Moilanen said Tuesday that there have still been no arrests following a Sunday evening shooting on Riverwood Lane Northwest.
Moilanen said while any shooting in a neighborhood poses danger to neighbors and people in the immediate area, police had no information suggesting another shooting would occur.
“This wasn’t a stranger-type crime, these people knew each other,” he said.
Police do not have “probable cause” to make an arrest at this time, Moilanen said.
(ABC 6 News) – Rochester police had made no arrests in connection with a NW Rochester shooting early Monday morning.
According to Capt. Casey Moilanen with the RPD, an officer driving northbound in the 2800 block of W River Road heard 2-3 gunshots at about 5 p.m. May 14, and saw a 30-year-old man running toward her from Riverwood Lane NW, while an 18-year-old man fled in the opposite direction.
The two men told police they had been shot at.
Rochester police allegedly determined that the incident took place at a home in the 2800 block of Riverwood Lane NW, and located signs that bullets had been fired in the area, including a hole in a table umbrella and a railing with a bullet mark.
Moilanen said the bullets may have been fired from inside the home.
He added that police spoke to a 24-year-old woman and 44-year-old man who lived at the house, but had made no arrests by 8:30 a.m. Monday, May 15.
Police did not find any shell casings at or near the home, but Moilanen said the shooter would have had time to pick up any evidence of the shooting before police arrived.
There were no injuries, Moilanen said.
