Man charged in connection with fires at two Mason City businesses

(ABC News) – A man has been charged in connection with fires that damaged two local businesses in Mason City back in March, according to the Mason City Police Department.
Lil Robert Vincent Barnes, 27, is charged with 2nd-degree arson and 2nd-degree burglary, both class C felonies, related to the fire at L.D.’s Filling Station on March 17.
Barnes is also charged with 1st-degree arson, 2nd-degree burglary and ongoing criminal conduct, all class B felonies, in connection with the fire at the Coin Laundry Center on March 20.

During the investigation a search warrant was served at Barnes’s residence and a coin machine
valued over $19,000 was located.
The coin machine had been stolen from the K&R Car Wash on March 14. Barnes is charged with 1st degree theft-possession of stolen property, a class C felony, in association with this investigation.
Barnes’ next court date is scheduled for September 2.
