Update: Charges filed against man shot at by Glenville property owner

(ABC 6 News) – The man who admitted to stealing a truck and was shot at by a property owner in Freeborn County is now facing charges.

38-year-old Andre Williams of Harcourt, Iowa admitted to police that he was trying to steal a truck when the owner of the truck opened fire.

Williams is facing felony theft and damage to property charges.

The owner of the truck, 38-year-old James Vinton, pleaded not guilty to assault and reckless discharge of a firearm last week.

Vinton says he was trying to protect his property and scare off the thief.

Williams has a court appearance scheduled for Nov. 4.
