PEM Schools reach tentative agreement
(ABC 6 News) – The teachers union at PEM High School has reached a tentative deal with the school district.
The teachers have been working without a contract since July, when union members were asked for higher wages. dissolvement of the controversial coaching committee and a public apology to the girls softball coach.
The union met after school today to discuss the new deal.
ABC 6 News spoke to one teacher earlier today who confirmed that the union had reached a tentative deal with the district after a 12 hour mediation session yesterday, but were unable to share any of the specifics until all members of the union agreed to the term.
Teachers at PEM released the following statement today, at 6:14 p.m.
Negotiators from the PEM teachers’ union and the school board reached a tentative agreement late Tuesday night. Details are pending until the union membership votes on the proposal. Your continued support is appreciated as we move through the next stage of the negotiation process
