(ABC 6 News) – Thursday, there was a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Principal Performing Arts Pavilion in Mason City.
Located on Federal Avenue Plaza, the space will be used for indoor and outdoor performances, and it has back-to-back stages. Allowing the space to host everyone from municipal bands to individual music acts. Years in the making, architects worked with an acoustical engineer to make sure the sound quality is the best it can be,
"The most important thing is a community where people feel welcome," said Mason City Mayor Bill Schickel. "Where people feel a sense of belonging and when we create spectacular places like this, that’s exactly what we do. That’s the kind of community people want to live in and that’s the kind of community want to move to."
The project was on time and ended up being under budget.
