North Carolina man sentenced to 60 days in Rochester sexual assault case
(ABC 6 News) – A Red Springs, NC man began a 60-day sentence in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center Wednesday after being convicted of 5th-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Jessie Aaron Locklear, 26, was accused of sexually assaulting a juvenile girl in 2021, at a party where she was chemically impaired.
The girl told police that Locklear had raped and assaulted her in a locked room at the party.
A jury acquitted Locklear of one charge of 3rd-degree criminal sexual conduct in October of 2023, but convicted him of 5th-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Locklear received the 60-day jail sentence, and will spend two years on supervised probation.
If he does not complete his probation without incident, Locklear could be re-sentenced to another 304 days in jail, according to court documents.
He was also ordered to pay more than $4,400 to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office to cover the cost of his extradition.
