Klobuchar tours Hormel’s new child care center

(ABC 6 News) – Senator Amy Klobuchar stopped by Hormel Foods earlier today.

Klobuchar met with Hormel leaders and Austin Mayor Steve King to highlight Hormel’s new child care center.

Klobuchar said the center highlights the need for quality child care for working Minnesota parents.

“We have seen this model work in other places, as well other places around the country, and I am really interested in it because we want to bring this out and figure out what policies we can put in place to incentivize these private partnerships with day care facilities a bit with government and make this work because its really the future,” said the Minnesota senator.

The facility is still under construction, but once completed it would offer 130 spots to children in the Austin-Hormel community.
