(ABC 6 News) – Saturday was the first ever Minnesota curling day.

It was perfect timing for the Curling Club of Rochester, who hosted their annual outdoor bonspiel, or curling tournament, Friday and Saturday at Little Thistle Brewing Co.

Five teams went head to head throughout the weekend, competing for the bonspiel trophy.

The team is always ready to welcome more players who want to join in on the fun.

“It’s a really great sport for anyone and everyone, so it’s a really great way to make memories, get out of your house during this winter,” said club president Kaisey Ackerman.
