(ABC 6 News) – After being out of service for about a year, the Twin Lakes Fire Department returned to action.

Right now, the department will only take fire and accident calls, but they hope to get EMS certified soon.

TLFD tells us they look forward to showing the community they’re not going anywhere.

“It feels great, the fire department was here it’s not like we’re starting over, so its good to be back and utilize the equipment that is already here,” said Kelly Peterson. “After doing all the training with fire school and stuff like and when they all said yes, it was just, it just really… lifted our spirit because you work so hard and you want you goals to pay off.”
