(ABC 6 News) – Today marks the 75 year anniversary of the Friends of Rochester Public Library.
Today, the organization accepted an over $7,000 grant from Shorewood.
They say the grant will go towards the Homebound program and the Bookmobile, which are particularly popular among senior living residents.
“It’s all volunteer and the money is basically all received from donations from the community,” said past-president of Friends of RPL John Hunziker. “Which in some respects is almost unheard of in this day and age.”
Over its 75-year existence, the friends of the Rochester Public Library gifted over $70,000 to RPL.
