Staying mild into February

The month of January will be coming to a close this week and the weather will remain rather mild for this time of year as above average temperatures will roll on into February.

Daily high temperatures will be around 15° to 25° or more above average heading into next week.

Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 30s which is several degrees below the 40s and 50s from Monday thanks to cloud cover. A spotty rain or snow shower is possible during the morning hours.

High pressure will position itself to the south of the local area on Wednesday with winds turning to the southwest bringing in more mild air as high temperatures will rival records for the day with much of the area in the upper 40s to lower 50s.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 30s to lower 40s through the weekend and low-to-mid 40s through the middle of next week.

Storm systems will generally stay to the north and south with little threat to the area through the middle of next week.
