Winter nowhere in sight as mild weather rolls on
After a blip through the middle of January when Arctic cold gripped the area, the warmer than average weather has returned and is showing no signs of letting up.
High temperatures heading into the first week of February next week will continue to be mild with temperature departures in the range of 15° to 25° above average with most days seeing highs in the 40s.
The Climate Prediction Center has a high probability of above average temperatures across the entire upper Midwest through at least the first full week of February. The average high temperature over this period is in the mid-20s and average low temperature is in the upper single digits.
No major storms are expected over at least the next ten days as systems will pass the area to the north and south with little threat to the area. The next best chance for precipitation may come toward the middle of next week.
