Man taken into custody following pursuit

(ABC 6 News) – A man is behind bars after leading Rochester Police on a short pursuit with a kidnapped child.

Officers were dispatched for a domestic call just before noon.

Police say the man left the scene with a child who was known to him and travelled approximately two blocks in northwest Rochester, before being stopped on 18 Avenue.

The man has since been taken into custody, about 10 minutes after the initial call.

The child has since been brought back to family.
