The Gates stabbing suspect enters guilty plea

(ABC 6 News) – A man accused of stabbing another man during an alterrcation at The Gates of Rochester entered a guilty plea Wednesday, Jan. 31.

Santos Salgado Vasquez, 25, was charged in November 2023 with felony 1st-degree assault–great bodily harm; 2nd-degree assault–substantial bodily harm; 3rd-degree drug possession; and misdemeanor domestic assault after allegedly stabbing a 31-year-old man multiple times.

Salgado Vasquez entered a petiton to plead guilty to 2nd-degree assault–substantial bodily harm in exchange for a recommended 21-month sentence.

He was immediately sentenced to 21 months with credit for 92 days spent in custody on Thursday, Feb. 1.

The remaining charges were dropped.
