Rochester City Jazz Festival starts this week
(ABC 6 News) – The Rochester City Jazz Festival returns this Wednesday.
Every year, local jazz bands are showcased and perform throughout the month of February.
Since 2017, local bands are fine-tuning their instruments and showing the city what they have to offer.
Come Wednesday, Thesis Beer Project will be buzzing with music, something musicians say they couldn’t be more thrilled about.
“Thesis Beer Project has been an awesome partner,” founder of Rochester City Jazz Festival John Sievers said. “It’s just a wonderful place to see live music in Rochester. They have everything from punk music to even jazz there. It’s a perfect partner for us to have a month long residency of jazz music in Rochester”
To kick off the first evening of the Rochester City Jazz Festival, the Jacob Burkhart jazz ensemble is taking the stage.
The trio features a trumpet player from Austin, and many are anticipating their showing will start off the festival strong.
“Should be an exciting group, guitar, drums, trumpet, really excited we have not had them at the Jazz fest before so it’s exciting to have them here,” Sievers said.
Everyone is welcome to come out to support the Rochester City Jazz Festival each Wednesday with different bands performing each week.
They’re thankful for their partnership with thesis to make this possible.
