Rain, gusty winds likely Thursday
A storm system passing through the area will lead to the chance for rain beginning late Wednesday night and lasting through Thursday.
The storm will be west of the local area and track from South Dakota to northern Minnesota putting the ABC 6 Weather First area into the “warm” sector. The storm will pull in warm air and moisture as temperatures are expected to climb into the mid-50s which will likely lead to another record-breaking day.
Rain is expected to develop overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning before becoming more scattered during the late morning into the early afternoon.
The storms’ cold front will slide through in the late afternoon to early evening leading to another chance for rain with the possibility of a few rumbles of thunder.
The heaviest rainfall is expected north of the area towards the center of the storm with most of our local area picking up a few hundredths to a couple tenths of an inch.
Any rain will come to end Thursday night.
It’ll also be a blustery day with wind gusts up to 35 mph possible at times.
