Super Bowl party at Chip Shots brings fans together
(ABC 6 News) – Many sports fans gathered to see who would be Super Bowl champions between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers.
Fans of both teams watched them battle for the Vince Lombardi trophy.
“I’m cheering for the Chiefs to win,” Brett Hansen said.
“I’m rooting for the 49ers,” Christian Olheiser said.
These passionate fans were hoping their team would come out victorious.
“We got a lot of juice, we got a lot of overs, the score is gonna be 82-80 or something I hope so,” Hansen said.
Each fan cheered whenever their team scored.
“I think they have a team built for it this year, they’ve gotten close before and fell just short, I think the Chiefs are starting to have a Patriots dynasty and it’s time for them to go down this year,” Olheiser said.
Workers at Chip Shots were on their A-game to serve everyone who came out to their Super Bowl party, happy with the crowds who showed up.
“It wasn’t as good of a turnout last year. We have a great turnout today, obviously as you can see we got the big screen tv right up here, biggest in town, obviously we want everyone to enjoy it,” Chip Shots owner Nick Vreeman said.
It wasn’t just the game that kept fans entertained, live music and trivia kept fans engaged throughout the evening.
“They get a ticket for every drink they get, and enter in for prizes, we do gift cards, just some random miscellaneous, like hats and swag that we got from our vendors, we’ll do a field goal kick for if they win they get a $100 gift card, so just something unique to watch the game,” Chip Shots general manager Hannah White said.
Despite the final score, this was an opportunity to bring passionate sports fans together and Chip Shots were happy to host.
“We obviously just want everyone to have a great time we know obviously we like to have a pretty intense battle between the two teams so as long as everyone is having a great time,” White said.
It was a tightly contested game that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Every momentum play was followed by loud cheers and the fans brought the energy until the very end.
The Chiefs were able to defeat the 49ers to claim the Super Bowl crown, 25-22.
