Shovel-able snow on the way for some late Wednesday
A more active weather pattern will kick into gear this week, and an Alberta Clipper looks set to drop up to a couple inches of snow (or slightly more). From our Monday evening perspective, here’s how timing looks to be shaping up. A rain and snow mix will start Wednesday afternoon, with only snow on the northern side of the storm system, north of I-90.
Through Wednesday evening into very early Thursday, snow will affect roads, highways, and visibility. Snowfall totals will be typical for a clipper, with amounts in northern Iowa ranging from a trace to around an inch. In southern Minnesota, it’s looking more like 1-3″ of snow. So, for some, barely shovel-able, for others, enough to potentially warrant firing up the snowblower. Another clipper looks to bring more light snow Friday.
