Cold snap to end the week
The snow from a passing clipper system has ended across the area early Thursday morning with colder Canadian air following in its footsteps.
Much of the ABC 6 Weather First area received a coating to two inches of fresh, wet snow with some slippery spots likely during the Thursday morning commute. Road conditions will improve fairly quickly throughout the morning.
The clouds will clear with sunshine expected and high temperatures a little bit closer to average in the upper 20s to lower 30s.
It’ll get colder yet for Friday as the core of the cold air begins to settle in. High temperatures will only manage the mid-to-upper 20s. A brisk northwest wind will lead to wind chills (feels-like) in the single digits and teens throughout the day.
Temperatures will drop into the single digits and teens Friday night into Saturday morning with wind chills hovering right around zero. Highs on Saturday will get back to near 30° for most.
The cold starts to retreat by Sunday with high temperatures back to above average in the mid-to-upper 30s.
