$19,000 in cash taken during burglary in Marion Township

(ABC 6 News) – $19,000 in cash was taken during a burglary in Marion Township over the weekend according to the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies were called to the 4400 block of 29th St SE around 12:30 Saturday for a reported burglary.

The witnesses told deputies they had left around 10:45 a.m. to go get lunch. When they got back around 12:15 they found three women who they described as being 40 to 50-years-old possibly of middle eastern descent with heavy accents. The women were reportedly driving a light blue minivan with Illinois license plates.

The victims spoke with the women who stated they needed water for their van. One of the men returned with a bottle of water and offered to help if the women popped the trunk. The women said they would do it later and got into the van and left.

After the group of women left, the victims noticed damage to doors inside and some of the bedrooms had been broken into. Cords had also been cut to the receiver box for the security camera system.

No arrests have been made as of Monday morning.
