Chilly end to the week, warming into weekend
The spring-like temperatures from the last few days are long gone, for now, as colder Canadian air moving in will lead to Friday feeling more like winter.
High temperatures will range from the upper 30s for most of southeast Minnesota to the lower 40s south of the state line into northern Iowa. The highs for mainly southeast Minnesota will likely occur around lunchtime or early afternoon before steadily falling throughout the day as the cold air filters in.
There’s also the chance of some light snow showers or flurries early-to-mid- afternoon as the colder air establishes itself combined with some afternoon instability.
Temperatures will fall into the low-to-mid- teens by Saturday morning.
The wind will increase out of the southwest on Saturday as mild air begins to push back in with high temperatures reaching the low 40s under a mostly sunny sky.
Sunday will be a bit warmer with high temperatures reaching the upper 40s.
Overall, it’ll be a quiet weekend.
