Near-record warmth Monday followed by potential midweek storm
A surge of mild air on Monday will lead to near-record high potential followed by a storm system that will bring the chance for rain, snow, gusty winds and much colder temperatures.
High temperatures will climb into the upper 50s to mid 60s which will likely set records for most communities in the ABC 6 Weather First area.
A storm system will cross the region in the Tuesday to early Wednesday timeframe. However, there are still several uncertainties on this storms’ evolution and timing. The storm may miss the area completely, or bring the chance for rain on Tuesday followed by a sharp drop in temperatures and snow on Wednesday. Details will be ironed out as it gets closer.
Meanwhile, temperatures will go from the 50s on Tuesday to the 20s on Wednesday and potentially colder. The cold snap will be brief as highs return to the 50s by the end of the week.
