CGCSO arrests “narco trafficker” in Omaha

(ABC 6 News) – On Friday, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department announced they apprehended a suspected narcotics trafficker.
According to the department, CGCSO took Jose Velez Sr., 38 of Omaha, into custody.
After a search of Velez’ vehicle, law enforcement reported they found nine pounds of methamphetamine.
Velez is charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.
Iowa State Patrol, North Iowa Narcotics Task Force and the Clear Lake Police Department assisted.
The case remains open and the department asks that anyone with information call law enforcement.
