Staying mild with storm chance late this week

Temperatures this week will look to stay on the plus side of average.

Sunshine returns on Tuesday with high temperatures in the upper 40s to lower 50s. Wednesday and Thursday will see more clouds come through with temperatures in the low-to-mid 50s.

A storm system will develop across the southern plains on Thursday and track northeast towards the area late Thursday night and Friday as high pressure from Canada builds in from the north bringing in some colder air.

As the system approaches, the local area will be on the northern edge leading to the chance of some rain and snow by early Friday morning with the continued chance of rain and snow showers throughout the day. However, the track of the storm is still wobbling around and shifts are still possible which will ultimately determine whether we get any precipitation at all.

After the storm passes, the Canadian high pressure will settle in leading to a colder end to the week and start to the weekend with high temperatures in the 40s and night lows in the 20s.
