Austin Republicans support Trump on Super Tuesday
(ABC 6 News) – Republicans in Austin were committed to casting their votes in favor of former President Donald Trump in the 2024 Minnesota primary election.
“There’s so many things that the other party has gone too far to the left, and some of it breaks my heart,” said Gary Ofstedahl, a Republican voter.
Mower County is a historically blue area, which Donald Trump helped flip red when he first ran for president in 2016.
“For the Republican side, Mower County was very historic in the last couple presidential elections compared to how we voted in prior years,” said Doran Kasel, Deputy Chair of the Mower County GOP Party.
Now in the 2024 primary, voters returned to support Trump.
“He seemed to care about the people, and he was good at the border, that was very important to me,” said Mary Greenman, a Republican voter.
Trump won 74.01% of votes in Mower County, bringing Trump just one step closer to the GOP presidential nomination.
Trump has been declared the official winner of the Minnesota Republican primary, making him the state’s front-running candidate.
