Public transit service returns to North Broadway Monday

(ABC 6 News) – Starting Monday, Nov. 29, Rochester Public Transit will end detours on Routes 101, 102, 505, and 21, returning to normal operations on N. Broadway Ave. following the end of major roadway construction activity.

Routes on N. Broadway Ave. will continue follow the current schedule, but bus stop locations have been adjusted to help the routes perform better. New stop locations are 13th Street, 10th Street, and 7th Street. At 5th Street, a new northbound stop is in place. A southbound stop will not open until the completion of the Bryk on Broadway project next year.

The new North Broadway design includes several features to improve the transit performance and the rider experience. Buses will no longer need to pull out of the traffic lane, which will allow for faster boarding and exiting. Improved sidewalk facilities will make accessing stops easier—especially for persons with disabilities. Shelters have been installed in all but the 5th Street stop locations.
