(ABC 6 News) – The first ever Rochester Moon Festival filled up Civic Center Drive downtown Saturday.
After a successful summer of smaller, bi-weekly markets, there was the bigger festival, with over 60 vendors.
“Today is the big finale of the moon festival and we are just bringing everyone who was with us this summer together to this closed down street, and just have some fun, eat some food, sell some food, have some artwork going on,” said Tiffany Alexandria, the organizer of the festival.
Alexandria says, there is not this large-scale of an even for the moon festival anywhere in Rochester, and is happy to make this the first one.
Over one hundred gathered, browsing through the small stores and eating from the many food trucks.
The event ran from 4 p.m. to 10 o’clock Saturday night.
There were also many different performers, all celebrating the holiday and the culture.
