Mason City man sentenced to life in prison for March homicide

(ABC 6 News) – A Mason City man was sentenced Monday for his role in a fatal shooting back in March.
38-year-old Benjamin Bravo Gonzalez was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Gonzalez was found guilty of first-degree murder in the fatal shooting of 36-year-old Michael Creviston back in August.
On March 31st, officers responded to a call that an individual had been shot in the area of 3rd Street NW and North Jefferson Avenue. Creviston was transported to MercyOne North Iowa where they later died from his injuries.
Gonzalez was sentenced in Cerro Gordo County District Court and ordered to pay $150,000 in damages to Creviston’s family.
