Osage’s Lincoln Elementary shows appreciation for teachers

OSAGE TEACHER APPRECIATION

The latest local, regional and national news events of the day are presented by the ABC 6 News Team, along with updated sports, weather and traffic.

(ABC 6 News-) Teachers at Lincoln Elementary in Osage this week are being treated to a farmer’s market gift grab – filled with local handmade and homemade goodies donated by businesses and assembled by parents.

“We are really appreciative of all they do for our kids every day,” said Principal Greg Adams, “Its a big job and it’s an important job, so we appreciate all their work every day.”

Later in the week, staff and students will build their own fresh flower bouquets for the teachers to take home. All week long, teachers are enjoying catered lunches as a small thank you for their hard work and dedication throughout the year, but perhaps the most meaningful gift to a teacher is hearing the thanks and gratitude of those being taught.

“I’ve received…its only Tuesday…but i’ve already received some really sweet notes from my students,” said Lincoln first-grade teacher Amber Tabbert, “all handwritten, handmade, just kind of telling me how much they care for me as their teacher, and those are the things that really matter the most and that’s been wonderful.”

National Teacher’s Appreciation Week is celebrated annually during the first week in May.
