Locally grown products on display at the Village Farmers Market
(ABC 6 News) – With fall right around the corner, now is a good time to enjoy some homegrown goods.
The Village Farmer’s Market at the Olmsted County History Center features locally grown vegetables – flowers – and herbs from many cultures.
The market showcases typical American foods as well as produce from some of our 20 countries represented by our farmers.
The Village Agricultural Cooperative supports emerging farmers who are recent immigrants by helping them access urban farmland, education connections, and resources.
“As a person who I wouldn’t say I’m a foodie but I love to try new things – love to explore and be adventurous and it’s an amazing experience to be able to have a firsthand taste of someone else’s culture,” said Amanda Nigon-Crowley.
The market runs every Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. through mid-October, weather permitting.
