Apache Mall Hot Topic closed, sign on door points to worker walk-out

(ABC 6 New) – The Hot Topic in the Apache mall in Rochester was closed Friday. There was sign posted on the door with the following statement:
"Almost all of our staff walked out due to the inability of the Hot Topic Company to support and give a living wage. We cannot support ourselves and our families. We have worked so hard and cannot do this any longer. You cannot pay your workers in passion."
There is no posted reopening date so far.
The sign was taken down a few hours after it was posted.
ABC 6 News has reached out to both Hot Topic’s corporate office and the mall but did not get a response.
