Thunderstorms Saturday afternoon, then we catch a break

Our stretch of stormy weather is about to come to an end, we just have one more round of thunderstorms to get through.

The greatest potential of severe storms Saturday afternoon is in north Iowa. Strong to severe storms with heavy rain and damaging winds will begin to develop around Noon and then progress southward. A line of thunderstorms will move through southern Minnesota later in the afternoon to early evening. Those storms look to be weaker, but will still contain some heavy rain.

Then, that’s going to be it for storms for at least a couple days. Sunday will be breezy but brighter and comfortably warm. Monday’s going to be sunny with highs back in the mid-80s.

Overall, next week is looking quieter as far as the weather goes although there will likely be an isolated shower or two, possibly Tuesday.
