(ABC 6 News) – In Austin, students at Riverland Community College are making a difference.
The criminal justice students have been collecting food donations for their food pantry at the school, and on Thursday, they delivered them in four squad cars.
This is the fourth year the community service project has been in the community, and one instructor at the college is glad to see his students doing good work.
"This is really what this profession is all about is to provide a public service. To see the students step up and participate in this is a very heartwarming feeling, I’m proud of all of them," Rich Watkins, program coordinator for the criminal justice program at Riverland Community College said.
The food pantry is open during school hours for any student to take what they need.
